One Page at a Time - 6 hour class

Instructor: Angie Platten

Class Description:

Have you ever wished there was a way to bind single pages into a book? Are you a swapper who has a stack of postcards or tip-ins you have traded and never managed to bind? What about fabric pages that are stacking up because you aren't sure how to bind them? Oh, but maybe you are a watercolor artist or enjoy journaling but have never found that perfect book that will lie flat when opened? Well, look no further! This is a class for you! Yes, ALL of you! All of these descriptions were true of me, which led me to create this original, single page book binding technique. I'm so excited to share it with all of you! Finally, a book that can be bound with pages added one at a time over several months or all at once! Possibilities for page materials are endless.

This class will primarily focus on the binding technique so you can leave class with a fully bound book in your hands. Pages can be added at any time! We will be creating our covers and spine of fabric using a sturdy support base. This class will include hand sewing for the covers as well as binding the book. While we will be binding our books by hand, if you enjoy sewing, they can also be done using a sewing machine at home. I will be bringing several books, for you to see, using variations of this technique. This class will open up so many possibilities for you to create your own books and personalize each one tailored to your own needs. The books we will be creating will be 5x7 in size and will accommodate 10 pages.
